5 Molinete Lineal: Solo Practice

You’ll need to pivot today, and you’ll need a strip of flooring minimum 1m x 4m.

Ex1 Without music, train the molinete lineal moving up and down your strip of floor at least 10 times! Be sure to start the pivot during your 2nd projection and freeze for a moment in your 1st projection. This is excellent training for your control!

Ex2 With music, explore modifications of the pattern and the side step.

Ex3 (Advanced): At the end of every run, use another tango movement to change the direction (rebote, voleo, cross, adorno).

Ex4 For Marks, repeat Exercise 2 and 3 checking to be sure that your leading arm (the one in the direction you are moving) is giving a consistent lateral pull for your partner. Notice that your body folds in and out of your shoulder joint as it pivots in order to keep your mark consistent.

5 Molinete Lineal: Pair Practice

You’ll need to pivot today, and you’ll need a strip of flooring minimum 1m x 4m.

Ex1 Dancing separately and without music, train the molinete lineal moving up and down your strip of floor at least 10 times! Be sure to start the pivot during your 2nd projection and freeze for a moment in your 1st projection. This is excellent training for your control!

Ex2 With the embrace but still no music and without marking, get comfortable moving your bodies through the molinete lineal in every superimposition.

Ex3 Still without music, Mark every superimposition. Remember that you only have to control the Revel’s pivot when you want to change the default pattern or accelerate the side step.

Ex4 (Advanced) At the end of every run, use another tango movement to change the direction (rebote, voleo, cross, adorno).
