Last Practica Dynamica is this Sunday 24 March
When I started Practica Dynamica nearly two years ago, the only Sunday event was the Synergy alternate Sundays Practica, and I wanted to dance every Sunday. Now we have the fabulous Liquid Tango and dancing in the streets of Darlinghurst most Sundays! Maybe Practica Dynamica will come back in the winter, when we would rather dance inside…

See you for one last Dynamic Tango this Sunday from 6-9pm at 5 Eliza Street.

In the meantime, I am going to do some new things, so keep reading…

New Monthly TangoForge Technique Workshop starts 14 April
People have been asking me to teach group classes, but I resist because it takes a lot of power. But I also do want to share my development with you. As I write my technique book, I am going deeply into various topics, so I will teach one workshop every month. The workshops will consider themes and skills that apply to many different kinds of movements, at all levels.

The first workshop will examine how we change the embrace. First we will look at why and how the follower is responsible for connection. Then we will examine the uses of (and how to follow) changes of tension in the wrist, elbow, and shoulder joints and how these enable parada, calesita, voleos, and volcada.

The workshop is $25 for Synergy members, $30 otherwise. 6-7:30 at 5 Eliza Street, Newtown. 2nd Sunday of the month (14 April is the first one).

New Tango Bootcamp – Sunday 28 April

This is a very special event for Absolute Beginners Only. It’s going to be a flirty, luxurious exploration of the sensations that make tango so magical, accompanied by some of Sydney’s best gourmet treats.

If you refer a friend to TangoBootcamp, you can come to one technique class for free! If you refer four friends, I’ll give you a free private lesson!  Registration at

Jewel Lab gets a new floor
Jewel Lab: Milonga Experimental is Sydney’s reddest milonga, with a professional DJ sound system, comfortable couches for lounging and chatting, ice water, and open-minded tango. Tuesdays 8:30-midnight at the Colombian Hotel, 117 Oxford at Crown.

On 9 April, there will be no Jewel Lab milonga due to construction.

And the following week, 16 April, we’re going to meet the new floor. It may be impossible to dance on, and we may say goodbye to dancing at The Colombian. Or it may be great. Either way, we’re going to have a party! Details and surprises to come!

Get hip and keep track of all the happenings by following TangoForge on Twitter. There’ll be juicy details about Bootcamp and surprises for the Jewel Lab Party.

I want you to know that you are not alone…

… neither in your dreams for tango nor in your frustrations.

My deepest desire is the same as all my students and friends … those who have yet to start dancing and those who dance a lot.

It’s partnership.

One thing I’ve learned on this quest, we need to:

Stop Waiting for Partners, and start Building them.

I’ve written a 10-step Action Plan.

Are you ready to find the Partners you want?
