Giros are circles in which the partners move around one another, often using the default pattern.

8 9 10 Giros: Solo Practice

You’ll need to pivot today, and you’ll need a square roughly 75cm per side to structure your practice. This could be defined by a barstool or you can visualize it on the wood of your floor.

Ex1 Without music, train the molinete on the square. Be sure to start the pivot during your 2nd projection and freeze for a moment in your 1st projection. This is excellent training for your control! Do both directions!

Ex2 With music, add changes of direction with pivot, rebote, and voleo.

Ex3 With music dance with changes of direction and modifications of the pattern.

8 9 10 Giros: Pair Practice

You’ll need to pivot today, and you’ll each need a square roughly 75cm for solo practice. This could be defined by a barstool or you can visualize it on the wood of your floor.

Ex1 Dancing separately and without music, train the molinete on a square. Be sure to start the pivot during your 2nd projection and freeze for a moment in your 1st projection.

Ex2 With the embrace but still no music and without marking, get comfortable moving your bodies through double giro in every superimposition.

Ex3 Now with music, Mark a whole song composed only of the three giros. Be sure to change direction as well as changing between the three giros.

Ex4 Continuing with music and the three giros, pay attention to the change of direction and the transition between the the giros. Use rebote, voleo, and pivot when changing direction. Ask the Revel to speak up about what would delight her and feel good in these transition moments.
